Brazilian iron ore exports rose 39% month-on-month in June

Brazil’s exports of iron ore to China in June were 22.777 million tons, an increase of 5.953 million tons, or 35 per cent, compared with a 52 per cent increase of 77.885 million tons compared with the previous month, according to the latest (Brazilian Customs) data released by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (mdic). The share of iron ore exports to China in total Brazilian exports rose further to 75.8 percent in June, up 19.1 percent from 56.7 percent in the same period last year and 6.3 percent from 69.5 percent in May, according to the data. In the first half of this year, the ratio to China was 67.7 percent, up 13.9 percent from 53.8 percent in the same period last year.
