One of the briefs for writing a Hackaday article is that if the subject makes the writer stop and read rather than skim over it then it is likely to do so for the reader too. Lieb contracted SO-CAL for the job but Jimmy Shine did the lion’s share of the work. He fabricated a chassis from 1932 framerails. It takes a little bit of finesse to mount a Model A body to a 1932 frame: the bottom of the body is all straight lines but the Deuce frame curves on both planes. Naturally Shine pinched the rails to follow the cowl but instead of shimming the body with a wood strip as most do he channeled the body 1-1/2 inches and reshaped its bottom to conform to the frame.
