The output of crude steel in the EU region in April 2020 is estimated to be 107.29 billion tons, down 22.9% from the same period last year. Crude steel production in the United States in April 2020 was 5 million tons, down 32.5 percent from a year earlier. The output of crude steel in the CIS region was estimated to be 6.554 million tons in April, down 22.6 percent from the same period last year; Ukraine’s output of crude steel in April 2020 was 1.4 million tons, down 30.9 percent from the same period last year. Brazil’s crude steel production in April 2020 was 1.8 million tons, down 39 percent from a year earlier.
